Q. You're full of baloney when it comes to Christian astrology! If God forbids astrology, why was Daniel made the head of Babylonian astrologers and magicians? Obviously he was a superior astrologer in an exalted position! Read all your Bible, Valerie, and then maybe you'd know the truth!

The story of Daniel clearly shows the opposite of what you claim. Far from being a superior astrologer, Daniel consistently shows that his success is from God and God alone (Dan 1:17; 2:27-28; 4:17-18). Daniel was a godly man, a righteous man who abhorred the evil practices taking place in Babylon (1:8; 4:27). God certainly would not allow Daniel to practice the same acts which brought Babylon into judgement (5:22-23)! Besides, Daniel's success was a reproach to the astrologers and magicians of Babylon--compared to Daniel, who got his knowledge from God, their failure rate was 100%!
The Bible clearly forbids us to participate in astrology, which includes reading your horoscope, studying your sign, and computing a natal chart. It is an occult art, meaning that it involves "knoweldge of hidden things", seeking knowlegde apart from God's revelation. It is a foundational art, which means it is the building block for all occultists. It is studied by witches and magicians alike.
Contrary to what most astrologers say (if not believe), the "intuition" (read: psychic ability) necessary to read teh heavenly bodies is not a latent human ability; it is idolatry, and stems from the demonic. It leads people away from trusting in God, and aids them in putting their trust in God's created things. And isn't that Satan's goal: to replace confidence in God with a dependence on anything else?
Thirty-two million Americans believe in Astrology! There are 10,000 full time and 200,000 part time astrologers in America. Three out of four American newspapers carry a horoscope column. Let's take a good look at what these followers of the stars trust.
Astrology is unscientific. It is based on the supposition that the sun circles the earth. Any third grade science student will tell you the earth circles the sun. (If, by the way, your third grader can't tell you that, it's time to home school!)
The positions of the planets and stars have shifted, and are never consistently uniform. Therefore, the houses of the Zodiac have shifted.
Do you believe in abortion up until all but an inch of the baby's head is birthed? Astrologers believe that life begins not at conception, but when the child takes its first breath. The spirit that condones murder is not of God.
Are you a twin? Is your twin very different from you? How does astrology explain that? It can't. There is no truth to astrology.
The Bible warns us that astrology is futile, and its presence indicates God's judgement has already occurred (Isaiah 7:42-43). Isaiah 7:13 mocks astrology and tells us that astrology can't save us...or the astrologers!
"Christian" astrology is an oxymoron (like Jumbo Shrimp). Like a round peg in a square hole, it just doesn't fit together!
If you have been involved in astrology and never repented, either before or after your salvation, now is the time to do it. Jesus is coming back for a pure church, unspotted and undefiled. Clean your hands, renew your minds, and begin again in your search for wisdom, remembering that it begins with the fear of the Lord (Psalm 111:10).
